Blue Ridge Mountain Cloggers

WINTER CLOGGING CLASSIC

SALUDA, NC -- March 5, 2011

The energy of the new Shady Grove Traditional Line was apparent in its debut performance..2nd place traditional line in a very strong competition. Looking forward to continued success from this dynamic routine.

One of the early competitions for our group each year is the Winter Clogging Invitational sponsored by NCHC and Chip Sumney.  This is always a great chance to test ourselves against some top notch teams and to step into the competitive mode.  This year was no exception as some very talented teams were present and we had to put our best on the stage.

The competition was a very well run event and we were fortunate to earn some very good results.  Two of our teams qualified for and competed in the Champion Team Dance-off and represented us very well.  Shady Grove Hoedown was Grand-champion Hoedown Team and was 3rd runner-up overall.  Mountain Wildfire traditional line did very well and was the 4th runner-up overall team.  All teams placed 1st or 2nd in their categories.  That is  a really good record.

Shady Grove Hoedown in the Championship Dance-off.  Many of the Mountain Wildfire Dancers had to go straight onto the stage immediately after their dance in the dance-off.  3rd runner-up overall team. Great Job after a hard day.   The first competition and the debut performance of our Vegas Show for 2011.  A lot of color, A lot of flash and glitter, one Marilyn , One Sinatra and One Elvis...Way to go folks..

Neat dancing here as Sidney & Rachel show their precision with their traditional duo to Sugar Foot Rag! Macy and Hunter did a really good job with a neat Buck & Wing Traditional Duet.  Way to go really proud of you.

We are getting so used to these two putting on a great show duo.  It really takes a lot of work to make it look like it's just fun and not the hard work it is...Thank you Abbey and Callie for your hard work and dedication...Proud that you are BRMC!
