WINTER CLOGGING INVITATIONAL

HENDERSONVILLE, NC - March 14, 2009

This is almost always  the first full test of the new competition season for our dance school.  After a fall of championships, festivals and Christmas parades this is also the first dose of full competition for many of the new dancers.  This year the competition moved to East Henderson High School, but the quality dancing remained in place and we had a good day of many succesful team, solo and duo dances.  Although the weather did not make life and travel real easy, we were rewarded with a day that saw 12 team dances qualify for the NCHC USA National Championships.  Two team dances were awarded with Grand Championship honors in their division as well as one dancer earning Grand Champion Individual honors.  Pictured above is just a sampling of some of the awards earned by the teams and individuals of BRMC. Many team members were not present for this photo.

The Adult Team lead the way as the high scoring BRMC team at this first competition with their traditional line routine.  Their routine was crisp, sharp and really impressive.

Also performing well was the show team, below left that earned Grand Champion Show Awards.  This dance is short, but packed full of action and tells the story of Jed Clampett and the Beverly Hillbillies.

Earning Grand Champion Hoedown awards were the dancers of Mountain Edition.  This hoedown routine has really come together and shows that it has what it takes to be competitive against some really strong teams this year.  Keep it up..
