MAGGIE VALLEY IN THE SPRING: STOMPIN' GROUND CHAMPIONSHIPS

One of the early tests of your teams and your dances always comes at the Stompin Ground Championships in Maggie Valley every Spring.  This year's event was no exception.  The good news is the teams and dancers of Blue Ridge Mountain Cloggers rose to the Challenge and passed the test with flying colors.

Our teams were very successful in the 2 day competitions with everyone placing in the top of their categories.  This will have most teams qualified for the ACHF World Championships in Maggie Valley in October.  Once again the crowd favorite was the show routine.  It had the entire audience watching, stomping their feet and just generally having a good time.  The dancers were once again rewarded with a first place trophy.

Jocassee Storm's traditional line continued its trek through the competition, placing second in a very tough lineup.  The dancers hard work paid off as this routine simply caught many of the established teams flat-footed with the energy and enthusiasm it has brought to the dance floor. Jocassee Storm has served notice this spring that BRMC is once again a force to contend with if you are going to compete in Traditional line.

The Hoedown teams of BRMC were also very sucessful winning first or second in almost every age division.

The dancers of BRMC also had a great day and represented us well in Short Duo, Traditional Duo and Buck & Wing Duet at this competition as well.

Tiffany & Sidney as well as Abbey and Callie competed well in the short duo competition.  Both couples did a very good job representing us.

Abbey and Callie were winners of the Pee Wee division of Traditional Duos.  While Allison and Joey won first place in the Elementary division of Buck & Wing traditional duet.

Good job to all of our dancing duets and duos for your devotion and hard work in this.  It takes a lot of work and practice in this division.

We also had many solo winners.  Pictured below are a couple of them
